Me & My Artwork
I'm here to share my interpretations
of the unseen with the others who see it or who can just appreciate
it; to share them as far and wide as possible, and to always do
so with the intentions of bringing others joy first through my
artwork.

Two
main components conceived AAS, LLC. The first thing was my art
itself, and the second thing was my desire to pursue professional
and commercial ventures with it. (My husband and I have day jobs
that we hate, and we would like to not go to them forever.) So
decided to go into business together while on our honeymoon in
California, April '07. We got back home and incorporated with
hopes that we will one day be able to live day-to-day as our true
selves, hard working in nature but working in a field we have
passion for, and motivate others to do the same. How simple is
that?

Maybe
it sounds trite, but I've been an artist all my life. Since I
was two and could wield a crayon or a pencil, I did. Even from
then I was always interested in drawing things from medieval times,
dragons, princesses and whatever. Through my life I would periodically
abandon drawing for a few months here, a year there, never really
more than that. I took it up again on a consistent basis about
five years ago, and my work evolved to take on subjects of the
spirit world, along with flowers, nature, and whatnot. Fairies
were then a given. I began to draw them almost every time I sat
down to draw.
In my first year of college ,2001, I came across the websites
of Nedda Shishegar, Jasmine Beckett-Griffith, and Lisalotte Eriksson
(did I spell that correctly?), all very inspiring. To this day
I still love all of their pictures, mainly because
their styles are so very different from each other, just as my
style is different from all of theirs; one of the major reasons
why the fairy-world quickly became a favorite matter to take a
pen, marker, pencil and brush to--because every artist's interpretation
of it is all their own.
I do customized artwork for those who request it, I keep a regular
blog, and I am working to open a forum here soon. Additionally,
my company and I work with beaded jewelry designer Deborah Tubiak,
and together we have the jewelry line BANATUBIA, for those who
are interested. My husband Matthew helps me out with just about
everything, and he is a regularly a presence here as well. Recently
he has taken up some graphic design work and we are creating a
line of greeting cards from my artwork together.

A
NOTE ON COPYRIGHTS:
I
have two rules regarding the use of images from my website.
1)
Don't use them without my permission. I am not a mean person.
If you ask me, I will likely say yes unless their are outlying
contractual reasons that I must say no.
2)
After you ask permission, and I tell you yes, give me, Natalie
Banathy credit for creating the images, because I did.
Do
this or else!!! (No, really!!!)
Thanks
for understanding,
Natalie
Banathy
